Appeal trial of defamation lawsuit by former believer, regarding the full victory judgment of the Happy Science Group

Regarding the appeal trial of the lawsuit in which former believer Mr. Osamu Tanemura sought damages from our group, claiming defamation by the scripture 'Approaching the Truth of Shariputra' (published by Happy Science Publishing) released by our group the year before last, today, Wednesday, July 23, the Tokyo High Court dismissed Mr. Tanemura's appeal, delivering a judgment of full victory for our group.

In this case, because a full victory judgment for our side was handed down by the Tokyo District Court last October, Mr. Tanemura had appealed.

The book 'Approaching the Truth of Shariputra' is intended solely to 'clarify the exploration process surrounding the confirmation of Shariputra,' and our group hopes that, taking this judgment as an opportunity, Mr. Tanemura will once again open the book, humbly accept the truth, and regain his faith.
