What is Membership and the Three Returns Vow?

For those who wish to become members of Happy Science, we provide guidance on joining. There are two types of members in Happy Science: new members and those who take the Three Returns Vow (Sanki). By joining, you can participate in various events, activities, and training at the temples.

Membership

Anyone who believes in Lord El Cantare and wishes to learn the teachings of President Ryuho Okawa can join.
Upon joining, you will receive the most important sutra of Happy Science, 'Membership Edition Shoshin Hogo'.
Those who join online can also receive the 'Membership Edition Shoshin Hogo'.

'Membership Edition Shoshin Hogo'

This is a scripture granted to new members, containing three precious verses.

'Words of Truth: Shoshin Hogo'

The most important verse that leads to a positive change in life and encapsulates the core of Happy Science's teachings.

'Prayer to the Lord'

A prayer to receive 'light, power, wisdom, and love' from Lord El Cantare.

'Prayer to Guardian and Guiding Spirits'

A prayer to receive guidance from your own guardian and guiding spirits to live life better.

Three Returns Vow (Sanki)

For those who wish to deepen their faith, we recommend participating in the Three Returns Vow Ceremony (Sanki Seigan Shiki).
The Three Returns Vow Ceremony is a ritual in which one vows to take refuge in the Three Treasures. You will vow to take refuge in the Buddha (Buddha = President Ryuho Okawa), the Dharma (the teachings of the Buddha), and the Sangha (the community of disciples and its rules).
The Three Returns Vow Ceremony can be received at Happy Science temples, branches, and centers, and by participating in this ceremony, you can become a Three Returns Vow practitioner (Sanki).

「仏宝」

「仏宝」とは「仏」のことであり、幸福の科学で言う「仏宝」とは大川隆法総裁のことを指します。

大川隆法総裁は、地球神エル・カンターレの本体意識であり、「肉体を持って地上に降り、法を説いている悟りたる者（現成の仏陀）」です。

「法宝」

「法宝」とは大川隆法総裁の説かれた「教え」のことを指し、法話・書籍などで学ぶことができます。大川隆法総裁の教えは、人生論や心の教えのみならず、学問・科学・政治・芸能・文化など幅広い領域にわたります。これらもすべて「法宝」になります。

「僧宝」

「僧宝」とは、「僧団（サンガ）」のことです。幸福の科学に集う在家信者と出家職員のことを指します。「エル・カンターレの法を真っ当に護持していこう」という集団のことです。

帰依

「帰依」は、「仏教に帰依する」などとよく使われる言葉ですが、もともとの定義は、「身も心も投げ出して尊いものを信奉する」ということです。

三宝帰依するということは、
「来世保険」に入るということだ。
地獄からは救い出してくれ、天国では、菩薩・天使が先生として導いてくれる。

This is the fundamental scripture of Happy Science granted only to those who take the Three Returns Vow.

It contains a total of 18 prayers, including 'Prayer to the Lord', 'Prayer to Guardian and Guiding Spirits', 'Prayer to Repel Evil Spirits', and 'Prayer for Healing'.

'Prayer to El Cantare'

This contains verses that deepen the faith in El Cantare.
