Protest against the article about Kyoko Okawa in the "Weekly Shincho June 21 Issue"
(Last Update: )
In the "Weekly Shincho" released on Thursday, June 14 (June 21 issue), an article about Kyoko Okawa was published under the headline "Breaking away from Happy Science! 'Kyoko Okawa' volunteering in disaster areas." We are currently protesting strongly to the editorial department of "Weekly Shincho" regarding the baseless points of this article and their reporting stance.
So far, "Weekly Shincho" has continuously published four articles that severely defamed our organization and widely distributed them nationwide, committing illegal acts. In response to our organization's protest, they did not respond sincerely, leading us to file a defamation lawsuit seeking 200 million yen in damages on March 11 last year, and the trial is ongoing.
Therefore, when interviewing our organization, we had warned in advance to be careful not to publish articles that differ from the facts, as the content of the article could not only affect the ongoing trial but also become a new issue.
Nevertheless, in this article, there are many baseless points, such as publishing non-existent statements by President Ryuho Okawa's children, and there were extreme problems with the reporting stance, such as blindly believing Kyoko's "false words" and not conducting confirmation interviews. Therefore, we are currently protesting strongly to the editorial department of "Weekly Shincho" and have also sent a protest letter to Kyoko Okawa to refrain from further false words.
We will continue to clarify justice and truth in court against "Weekly Shincho" and Kyoko Okawa. We are also determined to have many people read the scripture 'Research on the Demon Nesting in Weekly Shincho' , to make the reality of malicious journalism known to the world, and to advance the cause of righteousness.
