A. The "Honzon" refers to the object of faith that is most cherished by a religion. The Honzon can be an invisible existence such as a deity or a concept, and in many religions, statues or paintings that symbolize the Honzon are enshrined. In the case of Happy Science, the Honzon is Lord El Cantare, and there is a statue representing El Cantare called the "Gohonzon." As a manifestation of faith and a source of support in the home, many believers receive and cherish the home Gohonzon.
