Weekly Shincho should stop being jealous of "predictions that keep coming true"

(Last Update:

In the July 6 issue, Weekly Shincho published a defamatory article linking the bankruptcy of a certain vegetable factory to the predictions of President Ryuho Okawa. The magazine fails to understand the responsibility for individual management decisions and repeatedly shows misplaced jealousy towards President Okawa's future predictions, which are becoming a driving force for the creation of new industries and the expansion of new employment. We want to clarify their mistakes and issue a renewed warning.

Weekly Shincho nitpicks at predictions that came true

In the above article, Weekly Shincho writes as if the vegetable factory went bankrupt because it followed the predictions in President Okawa's book "New Business Revolution," published 27 years ago. However, the fact is that the "emergence of vegetable factories" predicted in the book has indeed come true.

At that time, hydroponics and other methods were a topic of discussion, with exhibits like the "giant tomato tree" that continued to grow indefinitely at the Tsukuba Expo. However, various issues such as cost and heat from lighting were not resolved, and there were no commercial ventures in sight.

In such a situation, President Okawa predicted in 1988, "In a 20-story building like the Kasumigaseki Building, crops will be cultivated using various scientific technologies. Artificial lighting will be provided, and agriculture will be conducted with appropriate temperature, humidity, water, and fertilizer" (from the aforementioned book).

With the development of LED lighting that does not generate heat and the advancement of internet and sensor technologies, the complete indoor cultivation of nutritious, fresh, and hygienic vegetables has become a reality, just as described in the book. Nowadays, new entries, including major home appliance manufacturers, are following suit.

Religious faith is the condition for business success

Another issue with the article is that it portrays religion and business management as incompatible, as if believing in religion led to the mismanagement of the vegetable factory.

However, in reality, there are many successful cases among business managers who believe in Happy Science, including those who have achieved public listing. Religious managers who strive for business management as a "public instrument" contributing to the happiness of all people under the devotion to gods and buddhas are invariably humble and have high aspirations. They are selfless, reflect well, and make efforts to listen to customers' voices, naturally leading them to success. As it is evident from the fact that people called great managers emphasize the importance of conviction and passion, religious faith is an essential condition for managers.

Although there are rare cases of failure, the cause is solely a matter of individual management decisions and capabilities. However, even if they temporarily fall into a difficult situation, they have the toughness to rise again with an indomitable spirit, which is a characteristic of managers overflowing with religious mindsets. One should refrain from absolutizing temporary failures.

Weekly Shincho should focus on the venture spirit

The undeniable fact is that the rapid growth of the new industry of vegetable factories and the creation of many jobs were backed by President Okawa's predictions as a reliable religious guide.

Since the collapse of the bubble in the 1990s, Japan has lost sight of the spirit of capitalism and has been drifting. In such a closed situation, President Okawa has continued to inspire the venture spirit to boldly challenge by drawing future visions.

President Okawa's strong guidance towards the future has served as a catalyst for the creation of numerous new industries, including the decision to lay the linear Shinkansen, the advancement of the aerospace industry, and the spotlight on the defense industry.

In pioneering new fields, the venture spirit of continuing to challenge repeatedly without being fixated on failure holds the key. The vegetable factory manager featured this time is indeed an embodiment of such a venture spirit, and warmly watching over such failures and encouraging them towards recovery is one of the "conditions for Japan's resurgence" that President Okawa has repeatedly advocated. Weekly Shincho, which does not understand this significance, may be the "plague god" trying to drag the national economy back into stagnation.

Shinchosha, return to the "royal road of management"

One reason for Shinchosha's repeated "stalker-like harassment articles" against Happy Science is the "sense of decline as a publisher."

This forced article linking bankruptcy cases to predictions is a typical example. Driven by jealousy of bestsellers, before meddling in themes beyond their capabilities, the company should reflect on its current situation of not being blessed with hits.

The steady accumulation of regaining conscience and steadily publishing good books, along with a reader-oriented marketing mindset, is the "royal road of management" for a publisher.
